An enjoyable, exciting adventure on high and scenic Khumbu valley, within Mt. Everest region with glamorous views that fascinate you in our marvelous Everest Gokyo Lake Trek and Everest base camp. Gokyo Lake and Everest Base Camp are delightful combinations, of the best scenic areas of Khumbu valley, where views of beautiful mountains never cease from the beginning to the end of the journey.

Everest Gokyo Lake Trek leads you to the famous Namche Bazaar for rest and acclimatization and to explore the market, where you witness the traditional and cultural customs of the Highlanders of Everest the Sherpa people. From Namche head into quiet areas towards the beautiful and scenic Gokyo Valley with its turquoise-colored lakes, which makes the area one of the most picturesque places in the Himalayas.

At Gokyo the climb to high Gokyo-Ri for the magnificent panorama of the world’s highest mountains Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, and the sixth highest Mt. Cho-Oyu and then heading towards a high Cho-la pass to reach Everest base camp. As the walk leads to a vigorous climb on top Cho-la passes above 5,367 m high with fantastic views of nearby peaks, and then descends to join the main trail of Everest Base Camp where the walk leads past Lobuche and Gorakshep.

Gorakshep was an earlier base camp till the late 1980s and then it moved further close to Khumbu Ice Falls, where walks lead over moraine and glacier to stand beneath the world’s highest Mt. Everest at base camp. At base camp with incredible close views of a massive block of Khumbu Ice Falls and glaciers, and then heading back to Gorakshep with one more adventure climbing highest spot of the trek at 5,545 m on top of Kalapathar. Our adventurous journey concludes by walking back to Lukla for a scenic panoramic flight to Kathmandu after completing an adventure of a lifetime experience on Everest Gokyo Lake Trek.

On arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, received by View Nepal Treks staff and guide and then transfer to your hotels. After checking into rooms and getting refreshed joining at the meeting place for Gokyo-Ri Panorama trek briefing includes hotels, lodge on the route with do's and don’ts with welcome .

Morning, transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport for scenic short to a flight of 30 minutes, overlooking views of mountain range with Mt. Everest. On reaching Lukla, here with time for short rest and then start the first day walk to Phakding village for the overnight stop. As route leads past many interesting farm villages, a nice pleasant trek with few short ups and gradual trails to reach at Phakding by Dudh Kosi River.

After a nice morning, walk continues crossing bridges over Dudh Kosi River passing several interesting villages of Toc-Toc, Bhenkar and Monjo arriving at Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate, from here on the river bed for few hours and after the last bridge a steep uphill to Namche Bazaar, at Namche with facilities of good restaurant, pubs, cyber café, post office, and banks.

At Namche rest day as well to get acclimatized before heading higher area. Optional short hike to Everest View Hotel or walk up on top Namche for views of Everest, Amadablam and adjoining peaks, visit the museum of great interest.

With pleasant time at Namche, a short ascent leads you on top and then on good winding trail to reach a small place at Kyanjinma and Sanasa village, here chances of seeing some wildlife colorful Danphe pheasant (Impeyan Pheasant) National bird of Nepal and musk deer, and sometimes even Himalayan Thar (mountain goat). From here our route diverts from the main trail heading north with the slow climb to a ridge at Mong 3,973 meters.
After Mong descends to Dudh Kosi at Phortse Thanghka, from here continue to walk uphill to Dole through rhododendron forest and then fades to juniper and conifers trees, at Dole for an overnight stop with the view of Khumbila and Tawache peaks.

After Dole, walk the valley on a level trail for an hour to Lhabarma Kharka at 4,325 m and to Luza at 4,390m; then skirting around the ridge line with first glimpse of Machherma, located below a small valley, finally reaching at Machherma for lunch and overnight stop after a good scenic walk, afternoon free for acclimatization optional hike with views of Mt. Cho Oyo 8,201 / 26,906 ft high with mountains that flanks Ngozumba Glacier.

Morning walk leads to Gokyo Lake following a scenic trail to Pangka 4,545m, then climbing a rocky path into ablation valley passing the first lake and second lake, then reaching third lake called Dudh Pokhari or Gokyo Lake. Around the Lake used to be Yak herders summer settlement, after lunch short walk by the lake with views of Mt. Cho Oyo world’s 06th highest, and Gyachung Kang with reflection on Gokyo Lake.

Morning hike to Gokyo Ri 5,357m, for the panorama of world’s highest peaks from Mt. Cho Oyo, Gyachung Kang, Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Cholatse, Taweche and to the east rises Mt. Makalu. After a mesmerizing time at Gokyo Ri descend to Gokyo for breakfast and walk to Thaknag, a short day walks heading back to the second and first lake near Ngozumba Glacier moraine, as our journey continues to beneath Cho-La often known as Tsho-la a small settlement with few lodges.

Starting early morning before dawn for long steep climb to the top of Cho-la pass (pronounced as Tsho-la) over rocky moraine in snow condition this will be tough to find the right path in snow and ice, walking on rubble of moraine reaching at the top enclosed by Cholatse, Nirekha and Taboche peaks, after a hard climb to the top, descend with care to a small valley at Dzong-la for overnight halt where few lodges available overlooking close Cholatse and Taboche peaks.

After a pleasant overnight at Dzongla, morning walks leads to a short uphill climb and then on the gradual path above Thugla (Dugla), located on the midway of Pheriche and Dingboche on route Everest Base Camp and Lobuche. From here a slow good walk to Lobuche for an overnight stop.

From Lobuche walk heads closer towards Everest Base Camp, where morning leads to gentle uphill with a short steep climb in between glacier and moraine reaching at Gorakshep.
Gorakshep located beneath Mt. Pumori and Kalapathar viewpoint hill, after a brief refreshing stop at Gorakshep, this was an early Everest base camp till mid-1980’. From here walk continues towards the east at Everest Base Camp, where route leads over moraine and glaciers then finally reaching on the foot of Everest at base camp. Enjoy glorious views of massive Khumbu Ice Fall and glaciers, after completing an adventure of a lifetime experience walk back to Gorakshep for the overnight halt.

Morning climb on top Kalapathar located above 5,545 m the highest point of the adventure, where walk leads to strenuous slope uphill on reaching on top, rewards you with incredible panorama of mountains where Mt. Everest looks at mere distance. After catching breath-taking views descend back at Gorakshep for breakfast and then continue walk downhill to Pheriche on windy valley for possible lunch break and then continue walk to Pangboche village for overnight stop.

Return journey on pleasant trail on losing altitude on downhill walks, with some short up to encounter towards Thyangboche, after a bridge as walk leads back into green vegetation covered with tall trees all the way to Thyangboche Monastery.
After a refreshing stop at Thyangboche, walk leads to a descend reaching at Imjatse River. From here a steep climb for an hour to Sanasa, and then on gradual walks to reach at Namche Bazaar for an overnight stop.

Our last day walks lead you to downhill reaching at Dudh Kosi River. From here walk past Jorsalle to Sagarmatha National Park gate (Sagarmatha for Everest in Nepalese) and then to Monjo village, from here following the router to Phakding.
After Phakding few hour of good trek reaches you at Lukla, in Lukla enjoy the night with celebration among fellow trekkers and staff.

From Lukla taking an early morning flight back to Kathmandu facing sweeping views of Himalayan peaks, on reaching at Kathmandu domestic airport transfer you back to your hotels. Afternoon free at leisure recalling the adventure on Gokyo Lake-Everest Base Camp treks.

Reserved, as spare and contingency day in Kathmandu, in case of flight delay or cancellation in Lukla due to unfavorable bad weather, which can occur sometimes as Himalayan weather can be unpredictable.
If all goes well according to our standard itinerary one can enjoy a free day or sightseeing tour around Kathmandu-Patan and Bhaktapur.
